Elderberry Syrup DIY Kit

    • Place entire contents of packet and 4 cups (32 fl oz) spring or distilled water in a small saucepan with vented lid.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer on low for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    • Remove from heat, squeeze up to 1 lemon, stir in and allow to cool with lid in place.
    • After cooling, transfer into a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and drain completely. Use a flexible spatula to push retained liquid from the mixture through the strainer. You may also use a cheese cloth or nut milk bag to squeeze out all of the  remaining liquid.
    • Measure the amount of strained liquid and mix in an equal amount of honey, stirring until completely blended.
    • Pour into a glass jar with a lid and store in refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
